Headed to Denver

Well, I'm headed to Denver, CO in May. I'm sooo excited. This is the assignment I've wanted for a long time. I tried to go to Denver after my assignment in Boston, but didn't get a position there. Now, looking back, God's timing has been perfect...as always. I want to be closer to home so I can go see my family more often. 8 hours is nothing considering I've been at least 24 hours from home for the last 2 years. I'm excited to be able to go home and see my family. I'm hoping my family can come visit me as well.

I haven't lived near my best friend, Kara, since college and I can't wait to make up for lost time! I have also heard great things about working at Denver Children's Hospital. I'm hoping this assignment will give me a chance to make some decisions about what I want to do after I stop traveling. I'll keep everyone posted on my last month in San Diego. I have some more pictures I'll try to post soon. By the way, this picture was taken in Colorado when I drove to San Diego the first time almost 2 years ago!

Some of my favorite pictures....

Boston is an amazing city. I took this picture from the 50th story of the Prudential building in downtown Boston...about 10 minutes from my apartment building. Boston was definitely a great place to play tourist for 6 months...and that's exactly what I did.
Disneyland at Christmas was so much fun. The weather was great, the lines were short, and Disneyland was full of the Christmas spirit. Ashley and I had a great time!

La Jolla is a beautiful coastal city a little bit north of San Diego. This is by the Children's Pool which is now inhabited by seals. The small beach on the left of the pictures is where the seals live.

My first travel assignment was in Washington, D.C. My friend, Ashley, and I were lucky enough to live there during the cherry blossom season. It was beautiful...I've never seen anything like it. This is the Washington Monument through the cherry blossoms.
I hope you enjoy getting a glimpse of my last 2 years. I couldn't be more blessed. I have lived and worked in some great places...places I never thought I would get to visit.

Better Late Than Never...

So, it's probably a little late, but I decided to have a blog for my travel adventures. I have my myspace page (forced upon me by loving, caring friends), however it is set to private. I send out mass emails...but don't always include pictures. I decided maybe a blog would be a fun way to share what is going on my life.

For those who don't know, I'm still in San Diego. I plan to be here until mid May. My plans after that are not decided yet. Jobs in the world of travel nursing tend to come up about one month before the contract ends. My hope is to go to Denver Children's Hospital. There are 2 Hematology/Oncology positions there right now...I hope 1 of them is for me!! I have a back up plan...but it's too early for that. My recruiter is working very hard to help me get to Denver!

Life in San Diego is great. I have a wonderful church and an amazing group of friends. I volunteer at church with the preschoolers....they are so fun! I also help out with the young adult ministry. Work is good...I love the nurses I work with. The downfall of being a traveler in San Diego is getting cancelled once a pay period. While sometimes this is a welcome break...I don't get paid when I get cancelled. The floor I work on is overstaffed right now which means there is not an opportunity to make up my missed pay.

I plan to put up some of my favorite pictures from my 2 years of traveling! I hope you enjoy!
